Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

There are two classifications of workers in Hollywood. The "Steven Spielbergs" and the "Nobodys." The mega-talents such as Spielberg himself, James Cameron, Bryan Singer, and Tom DeSanto are the "Steven Spielbergs." These people can build careers for themselves in Hollywood without even trying. They can succeed on TALENT alone. The Nobodys" consist of Ronald D. Moore, Bonnie Hammer, David Eick, Michael Piller, Brannon Braga, Rick Berman, Jeri Taylor; and every corporate executive employed by Universal Studios. These people have to resort to DISHONESTY, THIEVERY, and BACK STABBING to get a project made.
I'm going to put Richard Hatch into the category of the "Steven Spielbergs" because Richard has proven that he has the talent to be in this category. The only thing that has held Richard back in Hollywood is the DISHONESTY & PREJUDICE of the "Nobodys" who BUFFALOED their way into authoritative positions.
Ronald D. Moore OWES HIS CAREER TO RICHARD HATCH. Richard reignited interest in "Battlestar Galactica", and it's ONLY because of Richard's efforts that Ronald D. Moore is employed at all right now. Were it not for Richard Hatch, Ronald D. Moore would be back home manning the cash register in his Daddy's hub cap store.
Ron Moore will be joining Rick Berman very soon in the unemployment line when the 13 episode intended deal gets derailed. It's a short journey to disappointment in the "wheeling & dealing" of television product.
Why Did Ron Moore Leave HBO?
Ron Moore had a good thing going for himself at HBO. On the "prestige scale", HBO OUTCLASSES Sci-Fi Channel in measurements of light years. So, why did Ronald D. Moore leave such a great "gig" at HBO in favor of the SEWER DWELLER REPUTATION of Sci-Fi Channel?
HBO more than likely would have wanted a sequel production to "Carnivale." They more than likely would have wanted Ron Moore to helm it. HBO has triple the financial resources that Sci-Fi Channel has. HBO can do justice to a quality cable production with a superb and generous budget. Yet, Ronald D. Moore left this "Tiffany Network" of cable channels for the "Management Unstable"...slash..."Cash Strapped"....slash...."Perpetually On The Brink Of Going Under"......environment of Sci-Fi Channel. Why?
Simply because his buddy, Michael Piller, works there too isn't a good enough reason for me. In this particular situation, if your buddy is Michael Piller, you will be guaranteed a paycheck. I suspect that it was Ron Moore's HATRED of "Battlestar Galactica" that prompted him to join Bonnie Hammer's team of ILLITERATE MINIONS, and aid them in TRASHING our show.
