Glen Larson never tried very hard to bring back "Battlestar Galactica." Oh sure, he had the casual meetings with his buddies over at Universal Studios, but in Larson's own words, Galactica never got passed the "topic of discussion" phase. It's safe to say that we can partially blame Glen A. Larson for the existence of Ron Moore's ABOMINATION. How? Larson is a conformist. He conforms to Universal Studios lethargic and indifferent attitude towards "Battlestar Galactica." As the SUPPOSED creator of "Battlestar Galactica", it has been proven impossible by Glen A. Larson to revive the series with one foot in Universal Studios LETHARGY, and his other foot in the corner of reviving the series. By serving two masters so to speak at one time, Glen Larson not only guaranteed that "Battlestar Galactica" would not get revived in the manner that it should have been revived, but he also set the stage for UNDESIRABLE THIRD PARTIES (Bonnie Hammer, Ronald D. Moore) coming in at a later date to SWIPE the property right out from under his nose, and WARP IT into a "STAR TREK CLONE."
It would take a NON-CONFORMIST to revive "Battlestar Galactica" as a TRUE CONTINUATION of the 1978 series. Someone brave enough, dynamic enough, and with enough energy to get in Universal Studios face on a daily basis and tell them in no uncertain terms that it is his way or the highway. Glen Larson evidently is not like this. Also, based on Larson's rather quiet stance since the mini series aired, and the upcoming 13 episode series, we can safely conclude that Glen A. Larson does not care about the property as much as he claimed he did at the time Richard Hatch was apparently making head way with his revival effort. In short, Larson's SUPPOSED CARING was really a pre-emptive strike to prevent Richard Hatch from making revival progress.
The Ron Moore mini series and 13 episode series is the sad consequence of what can happen when the SUPPOSED CREATOR of a property, and the IDIOTIC STUDIO who owns it, doesn't give a MONKEY'S RUMP about the welfare of the property.

How are you doing with your continuation production, Glen A. Larson? Has it gotten past the "Fantasy Phase" in your imagination yet?

Still sitting on your ass, Glen Larson? Where is the continuation movie you claim you have been making since 1985?

Did I mention that the mini series is partially Glen Larson's fault?

When Universal executives lose a battle, they just don't know when to stay down.
