Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

If Bonnie Hammer were "Pinnochio", her nose would stretch to the MOON and back. Hammer and all of her little minions at "Sci-Fi Wire" get the "National Enquirer Award For Journalisitic Sleaziness" when it comes to making absurd ratings claims. Stratospheric ratings that the ABC Television Network wouldn't have gotten in the late 1970's are routinely claimed by Sci-Fi Channel.
When making the ratings claims supposedly achieved by Ron Moore's mini series, not only did Sci-Fi Channel "Cook The Books", They "Char Broiled The Books To Utter Oblivion." Are we to believe that Sci-Fi Channel beat out every single basic cable network and pay cable network the nights "Ron Moore's Trash Fest" was broadcast? Are we to believe that Sci-Fi Channel had its "best showing ever" on these nights? I guess we're supposed to believe it, right? Just like we're supposed to believe that Bonnie Hammer is qualified to run a Science Fiction channel?
If you want to work for "Sci-Fi Wire", the only prior experience necessary is working for the "National Enquirer."
The Cancellation Of John Edward
In the grand tradition of "Milli Vanilli", John Edward was exposed for the fraud that he was on a "60 Minutes" news broadcast. Even before this expose however, those of us who can think for ourselves knew DAMN WELL that John Edward was a FRAUD from day one. John Edward represented all that is wrong with the Sci-Fi Channel. And that is; questionable, ethical standards in broadcasting, moral responsibilities to the viewing audience (which the Sci-Fi Channel demonstrates none), and a basic CONTEMPT for the very viewing audience who brings in what little advertising revenue the Sci-Fi Channel manages to scrape together.
The cancellation of "John Edward" is a victory to those who loathe CRAP TELEVISION, and DISHONESTY in broadcasting. The cancellation is also a VICTORY for every RELIGIOUS DENOMINATION DEEPLY OFFENDED by this show in the first place. The CATHOLICS and BAPTISTS for example, would be justifiably ticked off at someone who claims to speak to the dearly departed with as much ease as placing on order for a hamburger at a "Burger King" drive-thru window.
With Bonnie Hammer in the drivers seat of Sci-Fi Channel, her REIGN OF TERROR was not limited to "John Edward." "Scare Tactics" still remains on the schedule unfortunately. A show that is actually more offensive than "John Edward", if that is humanly possible.
