Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

As of January 1, 2005; "Battlestar Galactica" remains just as buried in Hollywood politics as it was in 1979. The same OPPRESSIVE MANAGEMENT is still in place, JUST AS IT WAS IN 1979. The same decisions being made regarding this property are as POLITICAL as ever, JUST AS THEY WERE IN 1979. Perhaps most disturbingly, the very same DISRESPECTFUL ATTITUDE towards this property (not just held by Universal Studios, but by all individuals and corporations in Hollywood); remain firmly in place, JUST AS THEY WERE IN 1979.
In the midst of this OPPRESSIVE ENVIRONMENT in Hollywood continuing to BURY THE ENORMOUS POTENTIAL OF THIS PROPERTY FROM ALL ANGLES, it comes as no surprise that Ronald D. Moore's "ULTRA- POLITICAL, ANTI-GALACTICA PRODUCTION" finally emerged from this "ANTI-GALACTICAN POLITICAL CLIMATE" in Hollywood.
THERE WAS NOT ONE DECISION MADE REGARDING RONALD D. MOORE'S PRODUCTION THAT WAS NOT POLITICAL. Every single decision made regarding Ron Moore's "CRAP FEST" was rooted in the following POLITICAL AGENDAS of Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel:
1) The industry wide practice of WORSHIPPING George Lucas in Hollywood. In Hollywood, you CAN'T worship George Lucas and LOVE the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" at the same time. It's either one or the other. Guess which one ALWAYS LOSES? Thus, we get Ronald D. Moore's production coming off of the Hollywood assembly line. A production as far away from the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" as Hollywood can get, (and thus far away from "Star Wars"); while at the same time using the brand name "Battlestar Galactica" to SELL this production WHICH REALLY ISN'T "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" at all.
2) Does Universal Studios LOVE the "Battlestar Galactica" property? Any knowledgeable fan of this space saga would tell you "NO." Hell, anyone in Hollywood would tell you "NO." So, the question is, why didn't Universal Studios just sell the damn thing years ago and put themselves out of their own MISERY? I think this question has a two-pronged answer:
a) Simple greed. They HATE the property, yet they want to use the brand name to squeeze in a few extra bucks every now and then.
b) As a favor to George Lucas, Universal retains ownership of the property so that no one else (perhaps not aware of the 27 year old lawsuit and its ramifications) would go off and reconstruct the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" from the ground up. As I said, on the ranking ladder in Hollywood, George Lucas is directly underneath God.
3) Ronald D. Moore's EGO. For someone who has produced nothing more than "Marginally Passable Drek" when he is at his creative peak, Ronald D. Moore has an EGO that would suck all of Hollywood into a black hole. What incentive would there be for Ronald D. Moore's EGO if all he did was continue writing for concepts and ideas created by Glen Larson and Leslie Stevens in 1978? Nope, Ron Moore's EGO wouldn't stand for that. For Ron Moore to come on board this project, he would have to be all over this project like William Shatner's toupee was all over "Star Trek V." It would be Ron Moore's "STAR TREKKIAN TAKE" on the property, with as many "STAR TREK" ideas, characters, and story arcs that he could fit into the "Battlestar Galactica" brand name. Remember when Ron Moore showed up for the first public screening of his "Mini Series Crap Fest?" He was wearing a tuxedo, grew his hair long and grew a beard just to let everyone know that he was a real "Tough Guy", that he BEAT the "Galactica" fanbase to the ground, and RAMMED HIS PRODUCTION into existence at the same time. Would Ron Moore have showed up for that first public screening at all if all he did was continue writing for the concepts established by Glen Larson and Leslie Steven in 1978? HELL NO!! He would have had to leave his EGO at home with his dogs if he even decided to show up at all. Ron Moore and his EGO never leave the house separated from one another. THIS ENTIRE PROJECT HAS BEEN ABOUT RON MOORE'S EGO. Somewhere along the way, "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" NEVER GOT REVIVED.
4) You can't tell me that Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel doesn't have the slightest bit of ANIMOSITY towards the "Battlestar Galactica" fanbase. Visit the www.Scifi.com "Galactica" board, and you will see DAILY REMINDERS of how much Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel HATES THIS FANBASE, and the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." Hell, Universal Studios IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET, expressing their DAILY HATRED for the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" and its FANBASE. At the same time, conveniently praising Ron Moore's "Crap Fest." Is it safe to conclude that one of the MANY POLITICAL REASONS why Ronald D. Moore's production ended up being written and designed the way it was, was for Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel to express their HATRED for the "Battlestar Galactica" fanbase? I think so. Too, since VERY LITTLE THOUGHT went into Ron Moore's production in EVERY SINGLE DEPARTMENT, from conception to CASTING, this theory has LEGITIMANCY. If there was the SLIGHTEST BIT OF LOVE AND CARE that went into the production of Ron Moore's "Crap Fest", it would have ended up being better conceived and written than what ACTUALLY EMERGED.
5) If you roamed around Hollywood, and asked a few studio executives what they casually know about "Battlestar Galactica", regardless of who you ask, I guarantee that there first response would be:
"OH YEAH, THAT PRODUCTION FROM 1978 THAT PISSED OFF GEORGE LUCAS."
In Hollywood, that is the first GOSPEL that everyone learns RELIGIOUSLY.

Since Universal executives like messing with the counts so much, I'll keep adding to their work load and keep them busy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
