Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

Ronald D. Moore's "Crappy Star: Galactica" production would never have survived past the mini series phase if it aired on any other television network. The sad truth is, Ronald D. Moore's production just isn't pulling in the necessary ratings. It didn't pull in sufficient ratings during the December 2003 airing of his mini series. It didn't pull in sufficient ratings when the 13 episode series aired in England (repeatedly beat by reruns of the "Simpsons"); and it won't pull in sufficent ratings when Ron Moore's 13 episode "Crap Fest" airs on Sci-Fi Channel starting this month. Oh, Sci-Fi Channel will claim the ratings are great; but what Sci-Fi Channel claims, and WHAT REALITY IS; are TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THINGS.
Lord knows why Sci-Fi Channel is even promoting the hell out of this CRAP FEST, they didn't even pay for it. So, it should be no skin off of their nose if the whole production FAILS BADLY here in the U.S., WHICH IT WILL.
This brings me to a very interesting point. Ronald D. Moore's production will indeed FAIL BADLY in the ratings when it begins airing this month. But, Sci-Fi Channel will quite naturally claim otherwise; and they will quite naturally run to "Sky One' for additional funding for more episodes even in the midst of the reality of the REAL RATINGS NUMBERS that Sci-Fi Channel will never release publicly and admit to. This is perhaps, one of the most curious manifestations of Sci-Fi Channel's behavior. What everyone else would consider a staggering failure from every vantage point; from poor ratings to a badly conceived and written production, Sci-Fi Channel considers a success. Perhaps it's the EGOS at Sci-Fi Channel hell bent determined to deny the reality of Ron Moore's production being a FAILURE. Perhaps the ratings performance expectations at Sci-Fi Channel are so low, that even a production that attracts 10 viewers would be considered a success. Whatever the reasons, Sci-Fi Channel has a production on their hands THAT IS CONSIDERED A FAILURE by everyone elses standards, has not pulled in the ratings necessary to even survive; yet they continue to PROMOTE THE HELL OUT OF IT. A production that ALREADY PROVED its FAILURE STATUS over a year ago in December 2003.
Perhaps one of the MANY LESSONS that Sci-Fi Channel needs to learn, is to recognize and admit WHEN THEY HAVE A FAILURE on their hands, AND MOVE ON. This would require a great deal of self evaluation on the part of Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel; and the courage to begin admitting WHAT THEIR PROBLEM IS in the EGO DEPARTMENT.
There is only one thing keeping Ronald D. Moore's production alive right now, and that is EGO. EGO on the part of Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel. EGO on the part of Ronald D. Moore. Lord knows, the ratings ARE NOT KEEPING RONALD D. MOORE'S PRODUCTION ALIVE. So, EGO rooted in SELF DENIAL is the only thing keeping Ron Moore's production alive. A corporation engaged in SELF DENIAL over the FAILURE of one of their productions is on a one way path to self destruction.
