Russell Sanders....aka....Sandy......aka......TwoBrained Cylon......aka........Ronald D. Moore's butler............made a flashy and theatrical exit from www.Cylon.org the other day, characterized by a melodramatic speech which ludicrously implied that Ronald D. Moore and Bonnie Hammer are innocent and helpless victims of a vindictive fanbase. At no time, did Russell Sanders get to the root of the problem. Namely, that Ronald D. Moore and Bonnie Hammer brought all of this hostility on to themselves. Russell Sanders exited www.Cylon.org in a blaze of melodramatic glory alright, ironically fulfilling his POLITICAL and SOCIAL OBLIGATIONS to the "Universal Studios Community" of CORRUPT EXECUTIVES at the same time.
Russell Sanders has earned a special place on my board with this LATEST STUNT of his. He has joined the ranks of the "ANTI-GALACTICA CONSPIRACY" that has been going on within Hollywood since 1979. Russell Sanders may have joined "Galactica" fandom with the best of fan intentions at first. However, Russell Sanders went from "Simple Fan" to allowing himself to become "Absorbed" into the core group of "Bonnie Hammer Co-Workers", "Drinking Buddy With Ronald D. Moore", to ultimately having CONFLICTING PRIORITIES between what is GENUINELY GOOD for the future of "Battlestar Galactica", versus the POLITICAL, CORRUPT needs of his new "Bowling Buddies"-Ronald D. Moore and Bonnie Hammer.
What RUSSELL SANDERS avoided, and waxed over in his "Big Speech" is truly astonishing. And what he did not address is widely known within Galactica fandom:
1) Bonnie Hammer HATES the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." What was reported by Michael Faries (AND AVOIDED BY RUSSELL SANDERS), is that Bonnie Hammer was CONSTANTLY looking for excuses to not revive the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." She hates the series as much as her superiors in the "Black Tower." It finally reached the point that Bonnie Hammer was pulling posts off of the www.Scifi.com "Galactica" board (posts which criticized her, her network, and Universal Studios dealing with the "Galactica" copyright), and using these attacks to FUEL her own excuses for not reviving the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." Was this the origin of fandoms hatred of Bonnie Hammer, Russell Sanders? Yes!!
2) In interview after interview, Bonnie Hammer SLAMMED the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." She expressed her DISLIKE for the series, RIDICULED the series, and vowed that no true revival would occur on her network.
3) In interview after interview, Ronald D. Moore SLAMMED the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." He said it was ARCHAIC, IRRELEVANT TO HIS CAREER GOALS, and then went on to make remark after remark of CONDEMNATION against the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES."
4) In instance after instance, Bonnie Hammer's name was brought up as being a key force behind the derailment of the Tom DeSanto project. Bonnie Hammer was also repeatedly mentioned as being responsible for dismantling Tom DeSanto's "Galactica" sets, taking advantage of the weakened condition of the DeSanto project when Bryan Singer left, and pulling the project out from underneath DeSanto's feet.
5) In interview after interview, and instance after instance; Ronald D. Moore showed his IGNORANCE and NAIVETE towards the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." Thus, indirectly admitting that doing a "TRUE GALACTICA SERIES" would be beyond his scope and capabilities as a novice producer on his first solo project. Moore flat out admitted that he was overwhelmed by the scope of the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" when viewing the 1978 pilot, going so far as to admit that he was overwhelmed by the sheer number of visual effects shots in the 1978 pilot.
6) Bonnie Hammer and Ronald D. Moore were more than once IRRITATED and ANNOYED with the fanbase of the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." Going so far as to say it is not the place of the fanbase to dictate the conditions of production. Bonnie Hammer and Ronald D. Moore layed down their FUCKED UP LAW from the very beginning,-that it was going to be "THEIR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY" in a 21st Century production called "Battlestar Galactica." That they would not surrender their "creative vision" (if you can call it that) to the "Galactica" fanbase.
Never have I seen such a one-sided political view of a situation in my life, which was offered by RUSSELL SANDERS. Of course, Sanders took the side of the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation, coveniently WIPING OUT a good six years of ABUSE this corporation has INFLICTED on the "Galactica" fanbase.
It is impossible to bring up the subject of Ronald D. Moore, and not also mention what MICHAEL FARIES experienced behind the scenes with regard to what MOORE DID to make his production a reality:
1) Making threats to Universal/Sci-Fi Channel if his script (as it was written) was not produced.
2) Enlisting the aid Of Michael Piller to BUFFALLO Universal into making his script.
3) That Moore was weary and indifferent towards the "Galactica" fanbase from the VERY BEGINNING.
4) That Moore KNEW what the fanbase wanted long before he wrote his script despite his claims to the contrary.
It is impossible to bring up the subject of Bonnie Hammer, and not also mention what MICHAEL FAIRES experienced behind the scenes with
regard to what he saw this woman do:
1) Verbally thrashing the "Galactica" fanbase in private meetings.
2) Vowing in private that no continuation of the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" would occur.
3) Using posts she pulled off of Scifi.com to fuel her own excuses for not doing a continuation.
It is impossible to bring up the subject of Universal Studios, and not also mention what MICHAEL FARIES experienced behind the scenes with regard to what he saw this FUCKED OFF corporation do:
1) Using excuse after excuse to not revive the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES."
2) Procrastinating with one excuse after another in not reviving the series:
a) Mass employee turnovers in 1999 prevented a revival from occuring (according to Universal Studios).
b) Barry Diller didn't know what "Battlestar Galactica" was even after Richard Hatch did a presentation for him (according to Universal).
c) One corporate take-over after another prevented a revival from occuring (according to Universal Studios).
d) During one revival opportunity, Universal passed on "Galactica" and went with a televised version of "Smokey & The Bandit" instead.
e) With yet another opportunity, Universal passed on "Galactica" and went with "TekWar" starring William Shatner instead.
f) How about all of that CRAP Michael Faries experienced in the late 1980's with "Star Trek-The Next Generation" revitalizing syndication?
In light of all of this DAMNING EVIDENCE against Universal Studios, Bonnie Hammer, and Ronald D. Moore; how can RUSSELL SANDERS deny that any of this happened all for the sake of his MELODRAMATIC SOB STORY that everyone knows is a HUNK OF CRAP anyway? RUSSELL SANDERS wants us to forget that all of this happened, so we can "Buy Into" his LUDICROUS FANTASY of how:
BONNIE HAMMER AND RONALD D. MOORE DID NOTHING WRONG, SO WHY DOES EVERYBODY HATE THEM?
RUSSELL SANDERS claims that Bonnie Hammer and Ronald D. Moore were "just doing their jobs", and that "it was nothing personal." If you believe that, then you also believe that Russell's wife is coming back to him.
Perhaps the main reason why Bonnie Hammer and Ronald D. Moore are HATED so much, is that they both represent a Hollywood bureaucracy gone horribly wrong. Between the two of them, the unfortunate and ugly political realities of Hollywood hit the "Galactica" copyright like a ton of bricks, and ultimately ruled out any notions that product manufactured in Hollywood is based on the laws of "Supply & Demand." During the ups and downs, trials and tribulations of the "Galactica" revival during the past six years, the way Hollywood really works came out from behind the curtain and revealed in all of its HIDEOUS GLORY by reliable sources such as MICHAEL FARIES. Thanks to BLUNT, and NO NONSENSE REPORTING by MICHAEL FARIES, fandom finally learned what they had SUSPECTED of Universal Studios ALL ALONG:
1) That there was and is an "ANTI-GALACTICA CONSPIRACY" going on within the walls of that corporation.
2) Within the walls of Universal Studios, individuals who are members of management are just as DISGUSTING, REPREHENSIBLE, and flat out REPULSIVE as any penitentiary filled with HEINOUS characters.
3) That Universal executives have retained ownership of the "Galactica" copyright all of this time ( a copyright they have HATED since 1979), simply because it is THE NASTY THING TO DO.
4) More often than not, PERSONAL FAVORS, and FRIENDSHIPS DICTATE what projects will get made in Hollywood, such as Ronald D. Moore's "CRAPPY STAR: GALACTICA" production.
5) In the case of Ronald D. Moore's production, MAKING MONEY WAS NOT the uppermost thing on Universal Studios mind, but rather; HEINOUS AGENDAS that are TOO DISGUSTING to even think about.
Ronald D. Moore and Bonnie Hammer are also on the receiving end of a great deal of HATRED, because the public DOES NOT LIKE TO BE TOLD that what they want to see is inane and stupid. The public DOES NOT LIKE TO BE TOLD by a SMART ASS STUDIO (and a SMART ASS TELEVISION NETWORK) that they will be seeing something else instead, simply because PERSONAL FAVORS AMONG STUDIO PERSONNEL, and POLITICAL AGENDAS AMONG STUDIO PERSONNEL are more important than what the PUBLIC WANTS TO SEE.
In this entire FUCKED UP MESS, Russell Sanders lost his way and turned himself into a PERSONAL ASS KISSER of Universal Studios, Ronald D. Moore, Bonnie Hammer, and David Eick. The very corporate and individual (ASS HOLE) entities who GUTTED and LOBOTOMIZED the very property that Russell Sanders was SUPPOSEDLY a fan of, all of this time.
Finally, Ronald D. Moore's "JACK-ASS PRODUCTION" should be showered with as much ANIMOSITY and HATRED that the public can MUSTER, because Moore's production is the END RESULT of years of POLITICAL AGENDAS, CORRUPT BUSINESS PRACTICES, and flat out HOLLYWOOD BULLSHIT that has been SLAMMING the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" for the past three decades.
As Ronald D. Moore continues to FEIGN attempts at reaching out to the "Galactica" fanbase with a production they would like to see, the "Galactica" fanbase can rest in the knowledge and TRUTH, that Ronald D. Moore MADE NO SUCH ATTEMPTS in the first place. Indeed, if Ronald D. Moore wanted to reach out to the "Galactica" fanbase, he never would have GUTTED the property with his CRAPPY ASS REMAKE in the first place.
What holds true for "Dragonriders Of Pern" doesn't hold true for "Battlestar Galactica"; DOES IT, RONNY BOY?
