Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

The COMPLAINTS keep rolling in about Ronald D. Moore's style of scriptwriting. His INABILITY to construct a compelling plot. His INABILITY to create interesting characters. His HANDICAP of creating BORING, DYSFUNCTIONAL, CLICHED characters. These are the SYMPTOMS of someone who REALLY DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE. At his best, Ronald D. Moore's "Star Trek" scripts NEVER ROSE HIGHER than the CRAP he is writing now for his "CRAPPY ASS: GALACTICA" production. So, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM with Ronald D. Moore?
By his own admission, Ronald D. Moore did not start out as a scriptwriter. He was working in a MAILROOM somewhere, writing "Fan Boy Spec Scripts" which he intended to submit to "Star Trek: The Next Generation." (This was the early days of "Star Trek: The Next Generation", when the scripts on that show SUCKED in general). So, while working in this "MAILROOM", Ronald D. Moore made a "Contact" who worked in Hollywood, and this "Contact" got Moore in to see the producers of "Star Trek: The Next Generation."
In its first two seasons, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was the most POORLY WRITTEN "HUNK OF HYPER CRAP" in the history of television. This is because you DIDN'T NEED a college education to get on the writing staff of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" around 1987 and 1988. All you needed to be was a "STARRY EYED FAN BOY" with "Spec Scripts" all over your bedroom sitting next to your "Klingon Battlecruiser" scale model. This pretty much describes Ronald D. Moore.
Overall, the QUALITY OF WRITING in the television industry has dropped to STAGGERING LEVELS OF UNACCEPTABILITY since the 1960's. This is because when television first began, it was like any other RIGID, STRICT PROFESSION. You HAD TO HAVE A COLLEGE DEGREE to get into television scriptwriting, AND YOU ALSO HAD TO HAVE TALENT. Talent meaning, possessing a FUNDAMENTAL ABILITY to write entertaining scripts; (scripts so well written that they would take on a life of their own), an ability to prevent the audience from knowing how your story was going to turn out, an ability to create and write COMPELLING and INTERESTING characters, and an ability to keep the audience GENUINELY GLUED to their television sets.
Ronald D. Moore POSSESSES NONE OF THESE ABILITIES, because the WRITING STANDARDS in Hollywood have dropped to such RIDICULOUS LEVELS, that even Ronald D. Moore would get hired to write scripts. Ronald D. Moore, and other writers like him in the same age group; are only capable of writing CLICHED, DERIVATIVE, UNINSPIRED CLAPTRAP with characters that LACK THE ABILITY TO BOND with a television audience, because the characters were conceived with DEMOGRAPHIC FORMULAS, CLICHED DYSFUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS that we have seen THOUSANDS OF TIMES BEFORE, all wrapped up in SUPERFICIAL MARKETING CAMPAIGNS that never fool an audience because the audience always knows when they are being BULLSHITTED.
Ronald D. Moore's FAILURE as a producer and writer AT SO MANY FUNDAMENTAL LEVELS reflects a DETERIORATING HOLLYWOOD that has reached the point in its HIRING PRACTICES, that even 8th grade kids writing "Spec Scripts" in detention center could get hired AND DO the same job Ronald D. Moore is doing.
Perhaps the MARK OF SHAME that stands out the most in Ronald D. Moore's mini series and 13 episode series, is that these productions WERE NOT produced and written by a PROFESSIONAL. They were CRAPPED OUT by a former, AMATEUR, "STAR TREK" staff writer who got this "gig" simply because HE KNEW Michael Piller, and other Hollywood contacts who helped him STRONG ARM Universal Studios into making his CRAPPY ASS PRODUCTION.
AMATEURISM is written all over Ronald D. Moore's mini series and 13 episode "STINK FEST" which premiered last night on Sci-Fi Channel. Adding INSULT TO INJURY, Ronald D. Moore is an AMATEUR trying to produce and write incredibly profound things. As he continues to FAIL TO DO SO, the DISTRACTION created in his attempts ( because we the viewers are EMBARRASSED to witness Ronald D. Moore TRY AND FAIL AT BEING PROFOUND) makes his productions VERY UNPLEASANT AND DISTRACTING TO WATCH.
