Bonnie Hammer, going through another one of her delusional states of denying reality, has convinced herself that somehow; fans of the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" can be "won over" into watching Ronald D. Moore's "CRAP FEST." While this hasn't happened yet, and there is no indication that it ever will happen, I do give Bonnie Hammer credit for making an ABSOLUTE ASS out of herself not only at the public appearances with Edward James Olmos where she made this claim, but also her behavior in general which is becoming increasingly ECCENTRIC with each passing day.
I never thought I would find myself saying this, but I find myself becoming increasingly allied with some of the blunt comments Edward James Olmos has been making towards this production he is starring in. Olmos has shown remarkable COURAGE in sharing some of his blunt thoughts about Ronald D. Moore's production in public appearances, in many cases making these comments while Bonnie Hammer has been standing right next to him. I applaud Edward James Olmos for saying that "Sci-Fi Channel has handled the Galactica fanbase poorly", that original series fans "cannot be won over", and that "Bonnie Hammer needs to change her tactics in dealing with original series fans." If there is one thing I have to say about Edward James Olmos, it is that this man is real, right down to the core of his spirit. Edward James Olmos is not participating in this AGGRESSIVE MARKETING CAMPAIGN of Ron Moore's series currently POLLUTING THE INTERNET, and Mr. Olmos obviously is not afraid of the hands that feed him. It is not too often when COURAGE like this is shown by an actor in Hollywood, and I APPLAUD Edward James Olmos for showing such COURAGE.
Mr. Olmos has stated that "original series fans cannot be won over." This is absolutely correct. We CANNOT be won over or seduced into watching a television series that has shown REMARKABLE CONTEMPT for the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." We also cannot be won over into watching this series that not only has this ARROGANT ATTITUDE towards the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES", but also has the troubled genesis and history behind it. More behind the scenes twists and turns plagued Ronald D. Moore's production which ultimately lead to the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" and its fans GETTING SCREWED, that any likelihood of Bonnie Hammer making peace with us is an ABSOLUTE IMPOSSIBILITY.
The existence of Ronald D. Moore's series isn't the only issue that "Galactica" fans have with Bonnie Hammer. Our issues with Bonnie Hammer go ALOT DEEPER THAN THAT. Our issues have to do with Bonnie Hammer's ATTITUDE towards the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" which date farther back than the Bryan Singer/Tom DeSanto era of reviving this property. Our issues have to do with Bonnie Hammer pulling posts off of the www.Scifi.com/galactica board which criticized her and her network, and using these posts to FUEL her own excuses for not reviving the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." Our issues with Bonnie Hammer have to do with Hammer clawing and grasping for any piece of evidence that would help FUEL her own PREJUDICES against the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." Going deeper and beyond "Galactica", our issues with Bonnie Hammer have to do with how the hell she got this job in the first place, as her ARROGANT ATTITUDE towards the entire "Televised Science Fiction Genre" DESTROYED the Science Fiction content of Sci-Fi Channel,, and turned that channel into a "General Interest, Commercial Broadcast Network." Ironically, this is indeed behavior one would expect from a woman who has a work history listed on her resume of working for the "Lifetime" network, "PBS", and the "World Wrestling Federation." A woman with a work history such as this gets hired by the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation to run a Science Fiction channel?? Perhaps the main issue "Galactica" fans have with Bonnie Hammer, is her DELIBERATE SABOTAGE of the Tom DeSanto "Galactica" production, to the point that she ordered the DISMANTLING of the "Galactica Bridge Set" of Tom DeSanto's production which was not only a faithful rendition of the actual "Galactica Bridge Set", but complimentary additions were also added on.
"Galactica" fans, as well as Science Fiction fans of the entire genre, have issues with Bonnie Hammer that SLAM right into the MORAL and ETHICAL REALM of BUSINESS CONDUCT. Bonnie Hammer HAS NO MORALITY OR ETHICS. If her parents and family taught her morality and ethics, she LEAVES THEM AT THE DOOR each morning when she arrives for work. In terms of BUSINESS CONDUCT, Bonnie Hammer is at the intellectual level of a CORRUPT EXECUTIVE working for "ENRON." The woman is DISHONEST, VULGAR, and DISGUSTING. Perhaps the reason why the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation has found use for her services for as long as they have. Bonnie Hammer KNOWS NOTHING of the Science Fiction/Fantasy genre, and DOESN'T GIVE A FLYING RATS ASS if her PATHETIC EXCUSE for a cable network doesn't accurately reflect the genre or not.
Last night (January 22, 2005), Bonnie Hammer's "Sci-Fi Channel" showed a movie on "Hannibal Lecter." This movie had nothing to do with Science Fiction, yet Hammer showed it anyway. Yet another example of Bonnie Hammer's THOUGHTLESSNESS, RECKLESSNESS, ARROGANCE and "TRAIN WRECK PHILOSOPHY" of running the Sci-Fi Channel.
Another issue "Galactica" fans have with Bonnie Hammer, is that she and the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation use the Internet as a WEAPON to cover up their BAD BUSINESS DECISIONS via MANUFACTURING FALSE FAN BASES for their productions. As we all know, it is HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE for every single production that Sci-Fi Channel broadcasts to be doing as well in the ratings as www.Scifi.com/Scifiwire ENDLESSLY CLAIMS. Is there any other movie studio in Hollywood that ABUSES THE INTERNET in this way? Nope!! In fact, I know of no other movie studio that even bothers to roam the Internet as much as Universal executives do. The only time I have known of another movie studio even conveying information across the Internet, is Paramount Pictures recent admission that "Star Trek: Enterprise" is not doing well in the ratings. And Paramount Pictures WAS TELLING THE TRUTH!! Something UNKNOWN to the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation.
"Galactica" fandoms issues with Bonnie Hammer and the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation go WAY BEYOND their DELIBERATE MISMANAGEMEMENT of the "Battlestar Galactica" property, which culminated with the existence of Ronald D. Moore's production. It has to do with the most MORALLY and ETHICALLY BANKRUPT CORPORATION on Earth TREATING THE PUBLIC LIKE CRAP via all of the examples I listed above.
