"Sci-Fi Channel Fridays Goes Up In A Puff Of Smoke"
Sci-Fi Channel LOWEST RATED cable network for second consecutive week
New York, NY (January 24, 2005) -The debut of 'Sci-Fi Friday' - the LOWEST RATED night of Science Fiction on television - dragged Sci-Fi Channel to its second consecutive week as the LOWEST RATED network on cable among P18-49, P25-54, and M18-49 in Prime (8-11pm). It also marked the lowest rated and least watched Friday Sci-Fi Channel has ever delivered in a quarter.
The Winter premieres of Sci-Fi Channel's infrequently loathed 'Stargate-SG1' (8pm) and 'Stargate: Atlantis (9pm), combined with the critically loathed 'Battlestar Galactica (10pm), have made the channel a viewer vacated wasteland on Friday nights. For Friday Prime (8-11pm), Sci-Fi:
-Ranked in the bottom 5 nets among P2+ (#250), P18-34s (#249), M18-34 (#248), F25-54 (#247), and F18-49 (#246), in addition to the last place positions reported above in P18-49s, P25-54s, M18-49s, and M25-54s.
-Ranked in the bottom 250 among F18-34 (#259)
-Claimed two of the lowest three telecasts in cable among P25-54s and placed all three 8-11 telecasts in the bottom 250's.
-Claimed two of the lowest three telecasts in cable among P18-49s, and placed all three 8-11 telecasts in the bottom 250s.
-Claimed three of the lowest rated 4 telecasts in cable among M25-54 - including the #250 telecast for the day ("Battlestar Galactica", 50,000 M18-49; "Stargate: Atlantis" 25,000 M18-49).
-Battlestar Galactica at 10pm was the #248 program on all networks across the board among P18-49.
Sci-Fi, along with sister network USA, dragged NBC-Universal down into stratospherically low ratings for the night. With the combined weakness of "Monk" (USA), "Battlestar Galactica" (Sci-Fi), "Stargate: Atlantis" (Sci-Fi), the networks claimed four of the lowest rated five shows among P25-54 for the night.
With a 0.005 HH rating/15,000 viewers P2+, 10,000 P25-54, and 7000 P18-49, "Battlestar" faced and was slaughtered by its competition. Among M25-54, the series delivered 5000 viewers, less than all of the 250 programs on rival networks across the country broadcasting that night.
When compared against Sci-Fi Channel's 1Q04 time period average (10-11pm), "Battlestar" was down:
-109% in HH ratings. -137% in P2+ -222% in P25-54 -256% in P18-49 "Stargate: SG1"
With a 0.001 HH rating, / 5000 viewers P2+, "Stargate: SG1's premiere showed unprecedented loss vs. the 1Q04 time period average (8-9pm):
-82% in HH ratings -87% in total viewers P2+ -125% in P25-54 -127% in P18-49 "Stargate: Atlantis"
With its 0.001 HHrating, 5000 viewers P2+, also fell embarrassingly short of all Sci-Fi Channel's 1Q04 ratings for the time period average (9-10pm):
-24% in HH ratings -18% in total viewers -44% in P25-54 -38% in P18-49
Sci-Fi Channel is a television network where "what if" is "whats not on". Sci-Fi stifles the imagination of viewers with highly derivative series and non-events, box office bombs from the USA film vaults, as well as classic Science Fiction programming that you can just purchase on DVD anyway (so why watch us)?, as well as our smoke screen, spin doctoring website: www.Scifi.com combined with our "National Enquirer" news service www.Scifi.com/Scifiwire. Launched in 1992 and currently in 5000 homes, Sci-Fi Channel is a network of NBC-Universal, one of the worlds most poorly managed and embarrasing media conglomerates in entertainment history.
8-11pm Prime among P18-49, P25-54, M25-54, and M18-49

Since Sci-Fi Channel NEVER tells the truth in their press releases, I thought I would do it for them. I wonder how much the Sci-Fi Channel would get FINED from the FCC, if the FCC knew that Sci-Fi Channel was DELIBERATELY issuing FALSE PRESS RELEASES (AND OUTRAGEOUSLY INFLATED RATINGS CLAIMS) in those press releases.
Why don't I be a little tattle tale and INFORM THE FCC as to what the Sci-Fi Channel is doing?
