Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

The recent CANCELLATION of "Star Trek: Enterprise" changes the television landscape dramatically for televised Science Fiction. It also puts SEVERE LIMITATIONS on the future career prospects of not only Ronald D. Moore, but also his "Star Trek" staff writing buddies. Lets face it. The only thing Ronald D. Moore can write is "Star Trek." No matter how much he claims he is writing "Galactica-esque" material, THIS IS NOT THE REALITY OF THE SITUATION. Either consciously or subconsciously, Ronald D. Moore is REHASHING, REWRITING, and REGURGITATING old "Star Trek" ideas, characters, scenarios, and plots for his series called "Battlestar Galactica."
If anything, the cancellation of "Enterprise" has done a number of damaging things to not only the future prospects of the "Star Trek" franchise, but also Hollywood's perceptions of those who have a "Star Trek" background. Ronald D. Moore being the most visible, former "Star Trek" staff writer now; will be the first hit by the STIGMA within Hollywood which now is being attached to "Star Trek." Already, the word around Hollywood is that "Star Trek" is WASHED UP, BURNED OUT, OLD HAT, YESTERDAY'S NEWS, and not worth any further investments ($$). With this new found STIGMA associated with "Star Trek", Hollywood will be taking a CLOSER LOOK at what exactly Ronald D. Moore has been doing on his tv series called "Battlestar Galactica." They will see a WASHED-UP, HACK, "STAR TREK" WRITER crapping out the same old "Star Trek" garbage for Sci-Fi Channel that was being CRAPPED OUT on "Enterprise", "Voyager", "Deep Space Nine", and "Next Generation." In this regard, Ronald D. Moore is DIGGING HIS OWN GRAVE professionally. He is in the process of TYPECASTING HIMSELF in the eyes of Hollywood, that will have SEVERE RAMIFICATIONS on his career when his gig with Sci-Fi Channel comes to an end.
As I said earlier, Ronald D. Moore CAN ONLY WRITE "STAR TREK." And behind all of the closed doors in Hollywood, TPTB ARE FULLY AWARE that Ronald D. Moore CAN ONLY WRITE "STAR TREK." What does this mean to Ronald D. Moore's "post Sci-Fi Channel" career prospects? It means UNEMPLOYMENT. With "Star Trek" now dead, Ronald D. Moore's career IS ALSO DEAD. If Ronald D. Moore wants to survive in Hollywood, he better DAMN WELL learn how to write a script that doesn't take place on a "Star Trek-esque" spaceship, with mumbling characters suffering from post-adolescent puberty. In short, Ronald D. Moore will have to learn to become VERSATILE in scriptwriting. And that means TOTALLY LEAVING "STAR TREK" BEHIND in whatever new project he MIGHT be allowed to write for. Thus far, Ronald D. Moore has given NO INDICATION that he is capable of doing this.
Ronald D. Moore got the job to write on the project called "Battlestar Galactica" because of his prior "Star Trek" experience. With "Star Trek" NOW DEAD in the eyes of Hollywood, Ronald D. Moore WON'T BE SO LUCKY the next time around. Ronald D. Moore had better start taking an HONEST LOOK at his own career in this "New Era Hollywood" that now considers "Star Trek" WASHED UP. If he starts sending out resumes now with nothing but "Star Trek" experience listed on it, he will get LAUGHED AT and his resumes will get tossed in the trash. He had better go back to school, learn a new skill; or learn how to be a QUALITY producer or director. His days as a scriptwriter are over.
