Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

You know that "look" and "feel" television series get when they have been on the air WAY TOO LONG? They start to look and feel ragged, worn out, YEARS PASSED cancellation time? "Happy Days" should have been CANCELLED at the end of the 1975-1976 TV season. This was its BEST SEASON. Fonzie first reached the height of his popularity, and the writing and performances were crisp and strong. ABC-TV however, didn't know when to quit. They kept renewing the damn thing. When Henry Winkler started going through his "Fat Elvis" period, THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE SHOW. When they started turning Fonzie into a SUPERHERO, THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE SHOW. When Fonzie "Jumped The shark", THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE SHOW....And LONG BEFORE they brought in Scott Baio and Ted McGinley, THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE SHOW.
For some reason, ABC-TV was the most NOTORIOUS PRACTIONER (in the 1970's and 1980's) of NOT KNOWING WHEN TO QUIT. "Laverne & Shirley" maybe had one strong season....its debut season in 1976-1977. After that, the show SUCKED ROYALLY. When "Love Boat" starting leaving port without "Julie", THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE SHOW. When "Fantasy Island" lost the midget, THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE SHOW. When "Welcome Back, Kotter" lost John Travolta, THEY SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED THE SHOW.
Ronald D. Moore's series IS AT THAT POINT NOW,.....ALREADY!!! Barely five episodes into the first season, and Ron Moore's series seems like it just entered its 12th season. Worn out, ragged; the scriptwriting LACKING any creative spark, and the cast members acting like they are pumped full of as much drugs as Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hammil were during the filming of "Return Of The Jedi." I thought the acting was terrible in "Return Of The Jedi!!" SHIT!!! Ronald D. Moore's series makes "Return Of The Jedi" look like an "Oscar" contender in the acting department.
How could a television series BARELY into its first season seem like it has been on the air forever? How could a series feel and seem so OLD & WORN OUT? The answer is obvious. Ronald D. Moore's series suffers from BAD WRITING, NOVICE PRODUCING,....and on top of all that....Ron Moore's series is a WAREHOUSE for as many POLITICAL AGENDAS as Universal/Sci-Fi Channel can CRAM into it. There is NO GENUINE INSPIRATION or CREATIVE SPARK in Ronald D. Moore's lumbering behemoth of a series. The writing was FLAT to begin with. The performances of the cast members were BLAND to begin with. Mary McDonnell looks and acts SO DEAD & HALF ASLEEP in this production, she has already PARDONED Carrie Fisher's performance in "Return Of The Jedi."
The visual "look" of Ronald D. Moore's series was a "Ragged Flea Market" to begin with. No original costuming in this series, just off the rack clothing from "Wal-Mart." The interior of the main spaceship in this series looks one bit "Nostromo", one bit "U.S.S. Enterprise",...one bit "Buck Rogers."
The BLAME has to be placed somewhere for Ronald D. Moore's series looking like it has aged 12 years after 5 episodes. I place the BLAME on BAD WRITING, NOVICE PRODUCING,....and the FRONT-LOADED POLITICAL AGENDAS of the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation.
