MOORE'S TREKKIE STAR: GALACTICA" HAS NOT BEEN CANCELLED YET.....

"VAN HELSING" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE...."THE HULK" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE...."CAT IN THE HAT" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE...."JOSEY & THE PUSSYCATS" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE...."FLINTSONES" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE....."VIVA: ROCK VEGAS" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE...."ROCKY & BULLWINKLE" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE...."HOWARD THE DUCK" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE....."PITCH BLACK" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE....."CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE....."VIRUS" FAILS AT BOX OFFICE.....

WHEN UNIVERSAL STUDIOS CANCELLED ALL OF THE SCIENCE FICTION PROGRAMS ON "SCI-FI CHANNEL" AND REPLACED THEM WITH NON-SCIENCE FICTION PROGRAMMING, THEY NEGLECTED TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE NETWORK TO SOMETHING MORE FITTING. "THE HORROR CHANNEL", "THE USA NETWORK FILM VAULT CHANNEL", "THE INFOMERCIAL NETWORK", "THE HORROR/ACTION CHANNEL", OR "THE COMMERCIAL BROADCAST NETWORK" WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE APPROPRIATE TITLES.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS TRACK RECORD WITH FANTASY MOVIES ISN'T MUCH BETTER. UNIVERSAL STUDIOS USUALLY RUNS INTO PROBLEMS WHEN THEY TRY TO MAKE LIVE ACTION MOVIES BASED ON COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS. THE "HULK" BORED AUDIENCES TO DEATH BARELY 10 MINUTES INTO THE MOVIE.....TURNING "VAN HELSING" INTO A SUPERNATURAL "RAMBO" WAS TOO RIDICULOUS FOR WORDS....."CAT IN THE HAT" PROVED THAT 5 YEAR OLD KIDS WEREN'T READY FOR "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" HUMOR......"JOSEY AND THE PUSSYCATS" WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A "CHARLIE'S ANGELS" RETREAD BASED ON A 1970 CARTOON THAT NO ONE REMEMBERED......THE "FLINTSTONES" MOVIES PROVED THAT REBUILDING "BEDROCK" ON A STUDIO BACKLOT WASN'T ENOUGH TO DRAW IN THE FANS OF THE CARTOON.....SOME PROPERTIES SHOULD BE LEFT IN CARTOON FORM, WHICH "ROCKY & BULLWINKLE" PROVED......"HOWARD THE DUCK" WAS GEORGE LUCAS'S FIRST CAREER FLOP. HOW FITTING THAT LUCAS CHOSE UNIVERSAL STUDIOS FOR THAT MOMENTOUS OCCASION......"PITCH BLACK" WAS "PITCH DULL"....."CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK" DISAPPEARED FROM THEATERS FASTER THAN "FINAL FANTASY-THE SPIRITS WITHIN"......AND "VIRUS" PROVED THAT WHEN UNIVERSAL STUDIOS MADE A MOVIE FOR THE SUMMER OF 1999, NO ONE CAME AND WENT TO THE BEACH INSTEAD......

THE MANAGEMENT OF "UNIVERSAL STUDIOS/SCI-FI CHANNEL" IS AN OPENLY HOSTILE REGIME TOWARDS THE VIEWING PUBLIC, SCIENCE FICTION PROGRAMMING, AND THE "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" COPYRIGHT. THE ENDLESS GRAVEYARD OF CANCELLED TELEVISION SHOWS ON "SCI-FI CHANNEL" AS WELL AS UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ENDLESS BOX OFFICE FAILURES INDICATES THAT THIS IS A CORPORATION THAT DELIBERATELY LOST ITS WAY IN MAKING RATIONAL BUSINESS DECISIONS. ONE CAN ALWAYS HOPE FOR MIRACLES, AND THE PERMANENT FINANCIAL DOWNFALL OF "UNIVERSAL STUDIOS/SCI-FI CHANNEL" IS A DREAM SHARED BY MANY.

Sci-Fi Channel Wanted A "Star Trek" Sequel Series, And Got One
« on: February 14, 2005, 11:03:05 AM »

Looking at the DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation has engaged in, initially CONNING people into believing that they were at the very least doing a production that was within the same ball park as "Battlestar Galactica", I am truly fascinated that over the course of time, Universal/Sci-Fi Channel has revealed what their TRUE INTENTIONS were in hiring former "Star Trek" staff writer Ronald D. Moore.

It is no secret that the Universal/Sci-Fi Channel corporation has been envious of and has COVETED Paramount Pictures "Star Trek" franchise. "Star Trek" has been a huge money maker for Paramount since the 1970's. Even before the first theatrical film was released in 1979, Paramount was making a SHIT LOAD of money from merchandising concepts that were about a decade old. Combined with the "Star Trek" reruns in the 1970's, Paramount was also making money from "Star Trek" books, model kits, calenders, etc.

Universal/Sci-Fi Channel's ENVY of the "Star Trek" property however, REACHED OBSESSION; and BLATANT COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT in the 2000's. Their ENVY of "Star Trek", combined with their HATRED of "Battlestar Galactica", resulted in the most TRAGIC and DEVASTATING manifestation of CORPORATE MISMANAGEMENT in Hollywood history. They hired Ronald D. Moore to produce and write for them a "STAR TREK SEQUEL SERIES", using "Battlestar Galactica" in its title. Now, long before Moore's "Crap Fest Mini Series" premiered, (well over a year ago); I had been warning people on various bulletin boards that what Universal/Sci-Fi Channel were actually doing, was making a "STAR TREK SEQUEL SERIES" using the "Battlestar Galactica" brand name. Sure enough, with the passage of time; and Ronald D. Moore becoming more CARELESS and THOUGHTLESS (and quite frankly, not giving a shit whether he engages in Copyright Infringement or not) behind the scenes; his production is revealing itself to be (SURE ENOUGH) nothing more than a "STAR TREK SEQUEL SERIES" using "Battlestar Galactica" in its title. Now, just because his series is titled "Battlestar Galactica", doesn't mean that that is what it actually is. Indeed, Ronald D. Moore has been mining the idea factory of Rick Berman for this pathetic series of his MORE & MORE as time has passed. It is at the point now that Ronald D. Moore has successfully constructed (for his series) a FEDERATION STARSHIP called "U.S.S. GALACTICA", a "Seven of Nine" CLONE called "Six", mumbling "STARFLEET OFFICERS"; a style of scriptwriting that emulates Rick Berman's LETHARGIC NON-PLOTS to the letter, has even fallen back on the "Star Trek-esque" techno-babble; and finally, this past Friday, Ronald D. Moore reworked a fourth season "Star Trek: The Next Generation" script into his series called "Galactica." Does anyone need anymore convincing? Has Ronald D. Moore finally convinced his little "Shit Army" that his intentions were never to do "Battlestar Galactica", but ultimately fall back on his LAZY HABITS of being a "Star Trek" staff writer, cranking out rehashed ideas of "Phaser Banks", "Transporters", "Starships", and "Techno-Babble", for his PATHETIC SERIES that has the audacity to use "Battlestar Galactica" in its title?

Stay tuned, true believers. As time continues to pass, Ronald D. Moore will become increasing CARELESS (if that is even possible) and continue FRONT LOADING more "Star Trek" ideas and PROPS into his television series.  Kiss
