Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. A television production that has a FORMER STAR TREK STAFF WRITER at the helm is coming out with the INEVITABLE "Official Companion Book." In the GRAND TRADITION of the "Official Star Trek-The Next Generation Companion" book, the "Official Star Trek - Deep Space Nine Companion" book, the "Official Star Trek - Voyager Companion" book, and the "Official Star Trek - Enterprise Companion" book; Ronald D. Moore (IN HIS USUAL FASHION) FALLS BACK ON HIS OLD HABITS and drinks from the "Star Trek Idea Well" ONE TOO MANY TIMES in order to bring us the "cough"......"Official Battlestar Galactica Companion" book. What's wrong with this scenario? MANY THINGS!! For starters, Ronald D. Moore's production IS NOT "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA." As far as I'm concerned, if Universal Studios is going to have the NERVE to produce an "Official Battlestar Galactica Companion Book",.......IT HAD BETTER BE BASED ON THE "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." Any book that has "Official Battlestar Galactica Companion" in its title HAD BETTER have all of the schematics and blueprints from the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES."....And I doubt very much that book buyers who already own all of the "Official Star Trek Companions" are going to shell out money for MORE OF THE SAME for the "Official Battlestar Galactica Companion" book. After all, Moore's production is STAR TREK DERIVATIVE, and has an overall production design that is only a SLIGHT VARIATION on old "Star Trek" designs. So, the "Official Battlestar Galactica Companion" book is the WRONG TITLE for this TRAVESTY. This book should be titled in the following ways instead:
1) The "Official Star Trek - Pornographica Companion" book.
2) The "Official Star Trek - Derivativa Companion" book.
3) The "Official Star Trek - Plagiaristica Companion" book.
4) The "Official Star Trek - West Wingica Companion" book.
5) The "Official Star Trek - Melrose Placeica Companion" book.
6) The "Official Star Trek - Warmed Over Rick Bermanica Companion" book.
7) The "Official Star Trek - Neophyteica Producerica Companion" book.
 The "Official Star Trek - General Hospitalica Companion" book.
9) The "Official Star Trek - Substituting Sex For Plotica Companion" book.
10) The "Official Star Trek - Even Inexperienced Producers Can Find Employmentica Companion" book.
When Universal Studios begins getting serious about the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES, and produces a "REAL 'BATTLESTAR GALACTICA COMPANION' Book", I'lll buy it. That book would have to include all of the BRILLIANT DESIGN WORK from the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." Including John E. Chilberg's BRIDGE SET, Andrew Probert's CYLON and COLONIAL VIPER designs. All of the laser guns, spaceships, etc. from the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES."
I'll bet Universal Studios is HAPPY AS HELL now. In addition to having a television series on the air WHICH THEY RIPPED OFF FROM "STAR TREK"-(THE SOURCE OF THEIR ENVY); they also have an "Official Companion Book" coming along which they RIPPED OFF from the "Star Trek Companion" books.
This is just a thought, but if Universal Studios would STOP BEING SO PREOCCUPIED WITH EVERYTHING that the Paramount Pictures Corporation does, and would actually produce an ORIGINAL IDEA for a change, they would probably be more financially successful than they are right now. An original idea coming out of Universal Studios?? Oh well, ONE CAN ALWAYS DREAM!!!
