Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

Of course, this would also involve making a stand against the entire CORRUPT BUREAUCRACY of Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel. When dealing with the MARGINAL and DERIVATIVE scriptwriting of Ronald D. Moore, it would have to be a two-pronged hit. I have no doubt that Ronald D. Moore can do whatever the hell he wants to do in television, because he has already proven that he can STOMP on copyright laws, BY-PASS the rules and regulations of the WRITER'S GUILD, depend on Michael Piller to get him employed within Universal/Sci-Fi Channel, and even EMULATE to the letter the merchandising of Paramount Picture's "Star Trek" franchise, in addition to ROUTINELY BORROWING ideas from that property for his "Crappy Ass: Galactica" production.
Whether or not Ronald D. Moore's production will be CANCELLED by the time his "Official Battlestar Galactica Companion" hits the unsold DVD shelves of book stores across the country is irrelevant. The fact is, his "Official Battlestar Galactica Companion" EMULATES TO THE LETTER every "Official Star Trek Companion" book that has come before. Though it says "Battlestar Galactica" on the cover, the style of lettering is IDENTICAL to "Star Trek", the idea behind the book is IDENTICAL to "Star Trek", and his book GOES THROUGH ALL THE MOTIONS of every "Star Trek Companion Book" that has come before.
Not only is Ronald D. Moore thoroughly comfortable in routinely RIPPING OFF "Star Trek", he is apparently INCAPABLE of making a living any other way. Ronald D. Moore fought long and hard to get this project of his on the air, and for what? So he could settle right back into his old habits of doing exactly what he did on "Star Trek." The only thing that has changed is Ronald D. Moore's physical location in doing it. Where once Ronald D. Moore slept and ate "Star Trek" on the Paramount lot, he is now sleeping and eating "Star Trek" in Canada.
It was the perfect marriage of DYSFUNCTIONALITY between Ronald D. Moore and Universal/Sci-Fi Channel. Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel WANTED their "STAR TREK CLONE", and Ronald D. Moore was the perfect individual for being INCAPABLE of producing and writing anything else. Going from one quarter of a first season that crapped out on its own, to a second season that will be a little more or less of a fraction of the first, CLONING "STAR TREK" with "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" in the title will be about as far as Ronald D. Moore goes professionally. Indeed, Ronald D. Moore TYPECAST himself to such a degree as "That Star Trek Fuck", that Sci-Fi Channel will be the only business on Earth where he will be able to draw a paycheck.
Where does Ronald D. Moore go from here? Where does Michael Piller go after "Dead Zone" bites the big one? Employment options are limited for former "Star Trek" staff writers who can only regurgitate the thousanth and one variation of a starship passing through a temporal anomaly. Quite frankly, Ronald D. Moore's DERIVATIVE WRITING STYLE went out of style in the 1990's when viewers began to have more than enough of the "Rick Berman Techno-Babbled Clap Trap" that carried over from one "Star Trek" sequel series to the next.
Ronald D. Moore is more outdated than the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" which he claims doesn't hold a candle to his endless trips down "Star Trek Memory Lane." What Ronald D. Moore REFUSES to realize, and the main reason why the DVD set of the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" has sold so well, is that "Lost Warrior", "Magnificent Warriors", and "Experiment In Terra" (and these were considered the weaker episodes of the series) have enough innovation in them to make them seem like a sparkling breath of fresh air when compared to the average episode Ronald D. Moore has written. Where the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" did enough self contained episodes that prevented the show from getting stuck in one note and in a rut, Ronald D. Moore endlessly reiterates the STALE, TRIED & TRUE, SOAP OPERA-esque, PROBLEMATIC elements of his own series which prevents him from exploring new artistic horizons. The "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" was a new, fresh adventure every week. Ronald D. Moore's series is a REGURGITATING DRAG through CLICHED MOLASSES every week. Ronald D. Moore's stories and characters crawl along on the floor at a snail's pace, trying to break free from a PUDDLE OF MOLASSES. Nothing ever happens in Ronald D. Moore's series because Ronald D. Moore HAS NOTHING TO SAY. It was enough for Ronald D. Moore that he SIMPLY GOT ON THE AIR. Once that goal was achieved, actually putting something on the air that was worth watching ELUDED Ronald D. Moore. When his umbilical cord is severed from the COMFY GIG of the "Star Trek Staff Writer's Circle", the question of how he ever got that "gig" in the first place comes forward (full force) like a runaway locomotive as HIS LACK OF IMAGINATION IS STAGGERING when he is forced to perform on his own.
There are alot of "Bad Eggs" in the television industry, and Ronald D. Moore is one of them. The sooner the television industry makes a stand against this CLICHED CRETIN of STOLEN COPYRIGHTED IDEAS, the better off the industry will be. There are also people in the industry who can write Science Fiction/Space Fantasy A HELL OF ALOT BETTER THAN RONALD D. MOORE CAN. Until these people are allowed to come forward, WE WILL BE STUCK WITH RONALD D. MOORE.
