Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

I'm starting to feel sorry for the poor old bastard now. Apparently, while attending a Science Fiction convention in Europe, Glen A. Larson once again made his annual (is it annual now?) claim of having the rights to a "Galactica" continuation movie, and Larson once again stated that 18 months from now, this continuation movie will be in theaters. I think the biggest problem with Glen A. Larson's credibility, aside from the fact that he has no experience putting theatrical movies into movie theaters (the pilots of "Battlestar Galactica" and "Buck Rogers In The 25th Century" don't count, as they were both shot for television, and released in theaters later), is that decades, AND I MEAN DECADES; pass without any of Glen A. Larson's theatrical plans coming to fruition. Larson announced some "Galactica" project in 1993, and.....where is it?
Larson announced at least three "Galactica" continuation projects in the past six years alone:
1) A project with Todd Moyer. 2) A project with Tom DeSanto. 3) A project all by his little lonesome.
I don't doubt that Glen A. Larson has every desire in the world to put a "Galactica" continuation project into movie theaters all over the world. What I do doubt is his LACK OF CLOUT, LACK OF FUNDING, and his LACK OF LEGAL OWNERSHIP to pull it off. So, we always ultimately get from Glen A. Larson what we would rightfully expect from a cantankerous old man. Endless claims of being able to make the damn thing, a website set up in honor of the project he wants to make, a few pre-production sketches on the website,...AND THAT'S IT!!
I'm just glad that Glen A. Larson doesn't depend on any income from theatrical movies he would potentially make to primarily feed and clothe himself. If he did, he would be homeless right now and starving to death as every theatrical movie he announces never comes into being. Any progress on the "Knight Rider" movie, Glen?
I'll just chuck this latest experience up to a psychological need that Glen A. Larson has to boast and tough talk at Science Fiction conventions in order to give convention goers the impression that since he is (at least in theory) the creator of "Battlestar Galactica"; then he can do whatever he wants to do with the property at any time. From painful experiences with Glen A. Larson in the past, "Galactica" fans know damn well that this just isn't the case.
