Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

I try not to make it a habit of purchasing DVD-TV box sets from Universal Studios, as Universal Studios has turned DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISING of DVD-TV box sets into a SHAMELESS PRACTICE. I recently weakened however, and RISKED purchasing the "Emergency!" DVD set. For whatever reason, call it an act of God, or the fact that somehow "Emergency!" managed to not end up on Universal Studios PERSONAL VENDETTA SHIT LIST of classic tv shows; "Emergency!" managed to escape the DEFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION WING of Universal Studios manufacturing, and turned out to be a decent DVD set. I'll even defend the lack of extras on this set by asking what could they have included other than recent interviews with Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe? There was no behind the scenes footage shot of tv shows in the early 1970's, so what could they have included?
One thing I do take issue with, is the Universal Studios logo all over this damn set. I'll throw Universal a bone here and justify them including the logo the moment after the disc loads into your DVD player. When the damn logo keeps appearing before the start of each episode however, this is where I take issue. We don't need this logo appearing upwards of 12 times on this DVD set, as we already know who owns this copyright. After the second or third time of the logo's appearance, can we help but not know? The fact is, Universal Studios is the only studio in Hollywood which is LOGO CRAZY. You don't see the logo of Columbia/Tri-Star appearing at the start of every episode on their DVD-TV sets. The same thing with 20th Century Fox and any other studio. If Universal Studios is suffering from some INFERIORITY COMPLEX which motivates to toot their own horn 12 or 13 times (or more) on their DVD-TV sets, they do have an EMOTIONAL PROBLEM, don't they?
On the other rare occasions when I purchased a DVD-TV set from Universal Studios (Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers) the logo again appears at the start of every episode. Do we need to be reminded again and agaiin for example, that Universal Studios was TOO STUPID to sell the Galactica copyright to Richard Hatch, or that their handling of the Buck Rogers tv series was TOO STUPID FOR WORDS? Consumers already know who the copyright owners of these tv shows are when the DVD-TV sets are still sealed in the factory plastic, as the logo is PLAINLY VISIBLE on the packaging. In the case of Universal Studios, their logo is on the PACKAGING (sometimes TWICE), it's on the insert booklet of the DVD-TV set (on the RARE OCCASIONS when Universal Studios bothers to include an insert booklet into their DVD-TV sets), and their LOGO is advertised at the start of every episode on their DVD-TV sets.
I have a hunch, that everytime Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel executives have to TAKE A SHIT, the background music of the Universal Studios logo plays just before they TAKE A SHIT, plays a second time while they are TAKING A SHIT, and then it PLAYS AGAIN when they FLUSH THE TOILET. Who knows? Maybe the background music also plays while they are WIPING THEIR ASSES. With the kind of REPUTATION Universal Studios has in both Hollywood and in the public domain, they should probably keep the playing of the Universal Studios logo to a BARE MINIMUM on their DVD-TV sets.
