Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

Watching the Sci-Fi Channel for more than 2 minutes at a time puts a major strain on that portion of your brain which knows what quality television is. Asking the question as to why Universal Studios ever purchased Sci-Fi Channel in the first place would be a futile exercise in trying to find a rational reason when a ratrional reason simply doesn't exist. This was a purchase for simply acquiring a piece of real estate, with Universal Studios tossing out the window any broadcasting responsibilities that would go along with the purchase. Such as having a working knowledge of the Science Fiction/Fantasy genre.
What has long since become abundantly clear (and repeatedly demonstrated) by Bonnie Hammer and her staff, is not only a STAGGERING lack of knowledge about the Science Fiction/Fantasy genre (and a blatant contempt for the genre to go along with it); but also a remarkable LACK OF SCHOOLING in such areas as what constitutes good drama, what entertainment is, and what good taste is in broadcasting. Bonnie Hammer and her staff clearly did not come from a background in theater or the arts which would have prepared them for the task of managing the Sci-Fi Channel. Bonnie Hammer and her staff are about as qualified to run the Sci-Fi Channel as "Brownie" was to run FEMA.
What permeates every celluloid frame of GINO, is management IGNORANCE at its WORST. This is a production that was THROWN TOGETHER by individuals NOT EDUCATED in the disciplines of good drama, the arts, Science Fiction, constructing a cohesive and discernable premise for a television series, or making an appealing television series for the masses. GINO is an UNATTRACTIVE SKELETON of a would be television series that was thrown together by POLITICIANS, MARKETERS, BUREAUCRATS, METRO-SEXUAL TECHNOCRATS, ad BEAN COUNTERS all working for the NBC-Universal corporation. The end result of Universal Studios wanting to use the "Battlestar Galactica" brand name, while at the same time not pissing off George Lucas, and acquiring a "Star Trek" sequel series in the process. From every analytical vantage point; GINO is a HORRIFIC MESS, not redeemed by guest appearances by Richard Hatch, or janitors in GINO whistling Stu Phillips theme music.
GINO is every television executives WET DREAM. A total ABUSE of the copyright, the GUTTING of everything that made "Battlestar Galactica" what it was, and a draping of all of the cast members in present day clothing simply because it is the CHEAP and ECONOMICAL thing to do. (NBC-Universal doesn't give a SHIT what this thing looks like, only that it comes in either on budget or under budget.) NBC-Universal executives, on down to Bonnie Hammer and her staff, know as little about "Battlestar Galactica" as is humanly possible. Bonnie Hammer and her staff are PENNY PINCHING TECHNOCRATS, who don't have the slightest idea of what constitutes entertaining television, mainly because Hammer never attended a drama class in her life; let alone acquire a degree in the Arts. Thus, we had NBC-Universal's ENDLESS ARMY of Stealth Marketers who TRIED to RAM this CRAP down the public's THROAT. "Stealth Marketng" carries a far more SINISTER definition within the walls of NBC-Universal. It is the process by which the BAD DECISIONS of Bonnie hammer and her staff are GLOSSED OVER by trying to BRAINWASH the public into thinking these BAD DECISIONS are attractive in some way. In short, "Stealth Marketing" PREVENTS Bonnie Hammer and her staff from GETTING FIRED.
