Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

It has been my impression that Richard Hatch has tried to neutralize some of the hostility in fandom towards Ronald D. Moore and his production that is clearly not "Battlestar Galactica." Richard Hatch has even tried to go so far as to make Ron Moore's production seem an easier taste on the palate by claiming how "Katee Sackhoff's smile lights up the room", that "Ronald D. Moore is always open to new ideas", and that the "13 episode series production crew is the nicest bunch of folks you would ever want to meet." I think the problem with this position of Richard's, is that he is attempting to engage in futile damage control that was caused by the insensitivity of the "Galactica" copyright owners and Ronald D. Moore in the first place. Richard Hatch is clearly fighting a losing battle in this regard. He expects "Galactica" fandom to offer an "Olive Branch" to a corporation (Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel) and an individual (Ronald D. Moore) that deliberately inflicted massive and irrevocable damage to the longevity of the "Galactica" copyright in its original 1978 form. Yet at the same time, Richard Hatch does not offer the same pep talk to Universal Studios, Bonnie Hammer, and Ronald D. Moore; who not only have shown the same level of hostility towards the "1978 Galactica series" that fandom has shown towards Ronald D. Moore; but who also continue to insult, demean, ridicule, and mock the "Galactica" fanbase and the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" on a regular basis through interviews and press releases.
I think that Richard Hatch needs to express the courage in realizing who it actually was who caused this conflict in the first place. Richard Hatch has issued a "Pep Talk", yet he directed it at the wrong group of people. I think if there is to be any sense of harmony and peace between Universal Studios and the "Galactica" fanbase, there needs to be some major changes in the attitudes coming from Ronald D. Moore, Bonnie Hammer, Sci-Fi Channel, and Universal Studios:
1) Ronald D. Moore would need to cease all demeaning, sarcastic, critical, and pompous remarks directed against the "Galactica" fanbase as well as the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES."
2) It wouldn't be enough for Bonnie Hammer to do the same thing. She would also need a complete frontal lobotomy, personality change, and a permanent change in careers far away from Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel as well as the entire television industry.
3) Sci-Fi Channel would need to cease all ECCENTRIC BUSINESS DECISIONS that recently, set any likelihood for a genuine revival of "Battlestar Galactica" back a good 26 years.
Perhaps more than anything else, this attempt at DAMAGE CONTROL by Richard Hatch is just plain UNREALISTIC. His two guest appearances on "Trekkie Star: Galactica" also did nothing to cool the hostilities between the "Galactica Fanbase" and Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel. Richard Hatch pretty much guest starred on a show that not only will end up having the same fate as all other CANCELLED "Sci-Fi Channel" TV shows, but will also be historically viewed upon as the most blatantly failed attempt at reviving "Battlestar Galactica" in television history.
Richard Hatch urges all of us to give Ron Moore's show a chance, yet Ronald D. Moore and Bonnie Hammer never gave the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" a chance. Richard Hatch urges all of us to reach out to this production, yet Ronald D. Moore has never reached out towards us. Richard Hatch urges all of us to view the Ron Moore production as a totally different entity from the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES", yet this Ron Moore series uses the "Galactica" brand name in its title (??) This is DAMAGE CONTROL POLITICS that was ILL-CONCEIVED the moment it was thought of. Because it tries to operate under an irrational and faulty premise:
"EVEN THOUGH THE COPYRIGHT OWNERS OF "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE PUBLIC, WE (THE 'GALACTICA FANBASE') SHOULD STILL GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE COPYRIGHT OWNERS."
Richard Hatch also urges all of us to accept whatever direction the "Galactica" copyright owners take the property in, simply because, they legally own it. This position also suffers from a FAULTY PREMISE. If the direction the copyright owners take the property in is SO BLATANTLY ECCENTRIC, and SO BLATANTLY ABUSIVE AND DESTRUCTIVE; "Galactica Fandom" will naturally be concerned about the welfare of the property and thus, NOT ACCEPT WHATEVER RIDICULOUS DIRECTION the copyright owners take the property in. So Richard Hatch expects a mode of behavior from "Galactica Fandom" that goes against the basic makeup of human nature. In order for "Galactica Fandom" to grant what Richard Hatch wants, a total suspension of rational thought would be necessary, which is not about to happen.
Going beyond what Ronald D. Moore did with his mini series and 13 episode series; the other reason why Moore is hated so much by "Galactica" fandom is his snobbery, arrogance, contempt and incredulous HATRED of the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES" and its fanbase; and his personal belief that he has somehow created profound television when in actuality, his work is an indistinguishable PIECE OF CRAP from all other Sci-Fi Channel productions. One sure fire way for a television producer/writer to get on the bad side of the public, is to have tunnel vision with your own production. Being the only one who believes your production is quality entertainment. In all honesty, there is not one member of the public who believes that Ronald D. Moore either improved upon "Battlestar Galactica", or made quality television. It is UNANIMOUS HOWEVER, that Ronald D. Moore is the most UNTALENTED USED CAR SALESMAN in the industry who sold Sci-Fi Channel a WORTHLESS BILL OF GOODS.
