Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

It has been a claim spewed forth by "www.Galactica2003.net" as well as Ronald D. Moore himself. That somehow, televised Science Fiction was reinvented by Ron Moore's TRASH FEST. One year after the broadcast of Ron Moore's mini series, and after three episodes of the 13 episode series were broadcast, televised Science Fiction REMAINS UNALTERED by Ron Moore's FUMBLING on the LOW BUDGET soundstages in Vancouver. If anything, televised Science Fiction is WORSE OFF, and has taken a GIANT STEP BACKWARDS, with Ronald D. Moore's HUNK OF JUNK POLLUTING OUR AIRWAVES.
Science Fiction is supposed to be a genre in television where the possibilities are limitless, where imagination knows no bounds. Ronald D. Moore's SEVERE DEFICIENCIES as a writer keeps televised Science Fiction decidedly Earth bound. Earth bound with extremely LIMITED, and UNIMAGINATIVE parameters. Televised Science Fiction is not supposed to be a variation on "Rick Berman's 'Star Trek' Universe", which Ronald D. Moore HAS DONE. Science Fiction on the boob tube is supposed to be an original production each and every time. An original production with ORIGINAL IDEAS, ORIGINAL CONCEPTS, and excitement for the average tv viewer to begin exploring a totally NEW, ORIGINAL, and IMAGINATIVE universe.
Ronald D. Moore DID NOT reinvent televised Science Fiction. What he did do, is prove his SEVERE LIMITATIONS and DEFICIENCIES as a writer. With nothing more than changing the character names in Ron Moore's mini series and 13 episode series, his production would be YET ANOTHER "Star Trek" sequel series. Though Moore and Universal/Sci-Fi Channel claim that this production is "Battlestar Galactica"; the MOOD, TONE, MOTIVATIONS, TEXTURES, and FEEL of this production IS INDEED "Star Trek."
In order to reinvent televised Science Fiction, several critical elements would have to be in place:
1) The Producer/Writer would have to have a GENUINELY INSPIRED, FRESH IDEA for a television series. 2) The Producer/Writer would have to have IMAGINATION. 3) "Star Trek" could not be used as a PRIMARY SOURCE of inspiration. 4) Neither could any other movie or television show. 5) The Producer/Writer would have to have the ability to entertain, not bore the audience to death.
If anything, Ronald D. Moore should consider his first solo producing assignment as a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. Quite frankly, Ronald D. Moore SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIS SUB-STANDARD WORK. There is NOTHING in this production for Ronald D. Moore to be proud of. A BORING, "Star Trek" REHASH is not NEW, FRESH, or ORIGINAL.
It should also be said, that Ronald D. Moore sealed his fate for any future career prospects in this field. By STEREOTYPING HIMSELF as a rigid "Star Trek" writer, the industry will now look upon Moore as NOT BEING VERSATILE ENOUGH TO TACKLE OTHER PROJECTS. This is Ron Moore's SELF IMPOSED FATE. This is why Ronald D. Moore will never have a paycheck beyond INSIGNIFICANT "SCI-FI CHANNEL."
