Tom DeSanto is one of the hottest movie producers working in the industry today. His two "X-Men" movies were box office smashes and guarantees that DeSanto will be able to do whatever project he wants to do. EXCEPT OF COURSE, IF HE WASTES HIS TIME TRYING TO REASON WITH UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.
Universal Studios, aaaaahhh yes!! This is the same studio that DELIBERATELY DERAILED Bryan Singer & Tom DeSanto's revival project in favor of BIG NOBODY Ronald D. Moore's "STAR TREKKIAN TAKE" on the property. Universal chose BIG NOBODY Ronald D. Moore over the superstar movie making team of Bryan Singer and Tom DeSanto. This is also the same studio that greenlit that BIG TURKEY of a movie "Thunderbirds" with Jonathon Frakes directing. This is also the same studio that turned Sci-Fi Channel into a COLLEGE DORMITORY for a bunch of HAS BEEN "STAR TREK" STAFF WRITERS. And how could we forget? This is also the SAME STUDIO that turned Sci-Fi Channel into a WORTHLESS COMMERCIAL BROADCAST NETWORK that is Science Fiction in NAME ONLY.
Big surprise there, huh? This is the SAME STUDIO that produced a "STAR TREK" SEQUEL SERIES that is "Battlestar Galactica" IN NAME ONLY.
So, Tom DeSanto makes a pitch to Universal Studios. He wants to do a continuation of the "REAL 1978 GALACTICA SERIES." DeSanto would even settle for an animated project at this point, due to his love for the property. Universal Studios says "NO." In other words, Universal Studios says "NO" to one of the HOTTEST PRODUCERS WORKING IN HOLLYWOOD TODAY. A producer who could make a SHIT LOAD OF MONEY for Universal Studios no matter what project he did for them. Universal Studios, in their usual bout with DERANGED INSANITY; actually has the audacity to say that the audience would find a continuation project of "Battlestar Galactica" too confusing in light of Ron Moore's "STAR TREK" CRAP. The only thing the audience finds confusing, is Ronald D. Moore's "STAR TREK SEQUEL SERIES" using "Battlestar Galactica" AS ITS TITLE.
Now, after a quarter century of DELIBERATELY MISMANAGING "Battlestar Galactica", it is hardly news to the public that Universal Studios HATES this property. Universal Studios has HATED THIS PROPERTY SO MUCH, that they have been on the VANGUARD of every opportunity to DELIBERATELY MISMANAGE IT for 26 years. Universal Studios never misses a beat in this department. When Tom DeSanto walked into Universal Studios and WAS TURNED DOWN, it was YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE of Universal Studios DELIBERATE MISMANAGEMENT kicking into HIGH GEAR. Universal Studios reasons for turning down Tom DeSanto had nothing to do with their concern for the public, (yeah, right)!!,...that the public would somehow get confused over a continuation production, (yeah, right)!!...It quite simply had EVERYTHING TO DO WITH UNIVERSAL STUDIOS CONTINUED HATRED AND ANIMOSITY TOWARDS THE "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" PROPERTY.
THE SAME STUDIO THAT WAS TOO DAMN STUPID TO SELL THE PROPERTY THEY HATE SO MUCH WHEN THEY HAD THE CHANCE!!!!
