Life could be this beautiful without NBC-TV in it.

Following the exploits of Glen A. Larson is like being caught on a roller coaster that goes round and round its track and never reaches its destination. Glen Larson has recently announced (ONCE AGAIN), that he owns the theatrical rights to "Battlestar Galactica" and is planning (HE REALLY IS) a movie/continuation of the "Battlestar Galactica" tv series. Glen A. Larson also announced this back in 1999, and just like 1999, THERE IS NO OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE to confirm his claim. I don't know why Glen A. Larson keeps announcing these plans of his that NEVER COME TO FRUITION. I don't know why HE NEVER MAKES A MOVIE based on a property he claims he has owned since 1999. (Why would he deny himself the pleasure of box office profits if he can just go ahead and make the damn thing)? I do know, that Glen A. Larson is getting older and older; and with some modes of behavior being habitual among elderly people, maybe repeatedly announcing a "Galactica" movie he really can't make is Glen Larson's personal symptom of senility.
Glen A. Larson has been a real enigma within Galactica fandom since 1978. Never being worshipped by a fandom like George Lucas or Gene Roddenberry, Larson is primarily known as the supposed creator of "Battlestar Galactica" who let opportunity after opportunity SLIP AWAY since 1979 in getting a "Galactica" production going that would continue beyond "The Hand Of God." Glen Larson went from being one of the most powerful people in television, to owning his own production company in the 1980's, to being a royal pain in the ass in the 1990's by blocking the revival efforts of Richard Hatch, to finally being a sad caricature of himself in the eyes of "Galactica" fandom presently.
Perhaps one of the reasons why Glen A. Larson has been unsuccessful in getting a "Galactica" continuation going, is that he lacks the renegade/pioneer spirit that George Lucas had in making "Star Wars" back in the mid 1970's, or Gene Roddenberry had in standing up to NBC in the mid 1960's when "Star Trek" was in production. Listening to Glen Larson speak on various talk shows over the years (most notably, on Sci-Fi Channel's "War Room" in 1997), it is easy to understand why "Battlestar Galactica" never got revived with a man such as this trying to revive it. Glen A. Larson adheres to and follows Hollywood protocol to the letter. Never stirring the pot, never questioning the authority above him, Glen A. Larson is the obedient little school boy who never got sent to stand in the corner. Glen A. Larson has tried to revive "Battlestar Galactica" via adhering to archaic Hollywood conventions of protocol that have proved to be ineffective. Glen A. Larson is polite and cordial to his superiors. Most likely, when he brought up the subject of "Battlestar Galactica" to his superiors, the entire conversation was low key, with Larson allowing his superiors to get all of the words in edge wise. Larson most likely spent every meeting nodding his head in agreement as he listened to them, even if he didn't agree with them. It's this entire environment of low key lethargy within the Hollywood system that allowed a "Galactica" project to die again and again, and ultimately allowed a SLIME BALL like Ronald D. Moore to come along, and HIJACK the property into a "Star Trek" clone.
Quite frankly, a "Galactica" contination never happened because Glen A. Larson wasn't strong enough emotionally to make it happen. There wasn't anyone defending this property. Through ineptitude, narrow minded thinking, bad management, and irresponsibility, Universal Studios and Glen Larson allowed Ronald D. Moore to waltz right in, and HIJACK this property. This type of behavior from Universal Studios and Glen A. Larson is what DOOMED this property. No project on Earth would ever get green lit, with passive behavior such as this from Universal Studios and Glen A. Larson.
Yes, Glen A. Larson has spoken once again about a "Galactica" continuation movie. Larson's past track record with this property prevents me from getting excited about it.

I'll make it easy for you, Glen. Do a "Manimal" or "Automan" revival movie (providing that both Simon Macorkindale and Chuck Wagner don't look like Ted Kennedy these days), and I'll never pick on you again.
