Well here's something I never would have had to deal with if I'd stayed in New York...

Yesterday a wave of tornados swept through southeastern Kansas. My town and all of the surrounding ones were affected by it in some way.

I lost power for 12 hours because one of the tornados that struck north of us cut a power line that connected to us. Upon hearing the tornado sirens, I decided to chase the tornado. Probably not very smart, but I wanted a good look at it.

As soon as I got out of the driveway, I looked behind me and saw the tornado in the distance. It was only a few miles south of my house.

I tried to get close to the tornado, and did manage to get a good look at it. Shortly after that though, I was caught in a huge hail storm and then it was all over.

I learned later that the one I saw was an F3, and that it had destroyed several houses south of mine. Talk about a close call.

I saw a blue screen of death on an ATM today. Honestly, I have no words to describe the hilarity of the sighting.

I read an interesting article today which discusses gaming genres. I was surprised by the article's level of accuracy, all the way down to my favorite kind of game: 4x.
